Audio Bricks®
A modular hi-fi brand I co-founded and built entirely on my own. Concept, brand, web, crowdfunding campaign, press. Featured in Designboom and TNT-Audio.
Project
Take a modular hi-fi idea from a prototype to a brand that's actually out in the world.
Setup
Two founders: my partner led the engineering, I led design and go-to-market.
What I owned
Brand, crowdfunding, press outreach, social, and the website.
Outcome
A real brand in market — with the entire experience taken there by me.
01
THE SETUP
I owned everything except the electronics
Audio Bricks began with a simple, ambitious idea: hi-fi gears you assemble yourself, with a patented adapter system at the core. My co-founder led the electronics and engineering; I took on everything else — what the brand is, how it looks, how it reaches people, and where it lives online. With no team and no budget, the real challenge wasn't any single craft. It was carrying a whole company's worth of functions on my own.
02
THE SETUP
Brand, campaign, press, social — all me
I gave the product a name and an identity, and kept it consistent across everything with a lean system in Figma. Then I took it out into the world: I ran a crowdfunding campaign end-to-end — copy, reward tiers, visuals — pitched the project to design and hi-fi press, and built and ran the social presence from scratch. Each of these is normally a separate role. Here they were all the same person.
03
SHOWING A PRODUCT THAT DIDN'T EXIST YET
3D renders and stop-motion, from nothing
There was no finished product to photograph, so I modelled and batch-rendered the speakers in 3D and produced stop-motion video to show how the modular pieces click together. It was the only way to make something that didn't physically exist yet feel real to an audience.
04
THE WEBSITE
Designed and built, not just mocked up
I designed the site and built it myself in WordPress — structuring the product range, writing the copy, and shipping a brand experience that's actually live. It's the clearest single proof of what I do: take an idea and carry it all the way to something real.

05
WHAT I TOOK AWAY
Designed and built, not just mocked up
Audio Bricks taught me how much ground a single person can cover when the whole thing depends on them — and how to choose where to go deep and where "good enough" is the right call. It's not perfect in every corner, and it isn't meant to be: it's a real venture, with real trade-offs, and I made every one of them.
